| So, let’s continue with a discussion of Matrix. |
| Matrix was developed in 1960 while I was a caddie at a golf course. |
| I had just graduated from high school at 17. I had Bobo’s Modern Coin Magic and |
| spent many hours studying it. One of the tricks in it was a trick called the Sympathetic |
| Coin Trick. I practiced it and performed a modified version of it now and then. This |
| trick utilized two playing cards and four coins. One day at the golf course while |
| waiting to caddie for someone, I performed the effect for another caddie in the caddie |
| The response was good; however, the individual said that they could see how I could |
| manipulate the first two coins that had traveled magically to the upper left hand corner. |
| However, they were very willing to admit they could not see how I got the last coin to |
| go. Actually, they could not comprehend how it could possibly happen. |
| With that in mind, I resolved to improve this effect. |
| The first problem I had with that routine was the business of covering the coins in a |
| variety of ways at the beginning of the trick. You are theoretically showing the |
