and vanished using a finger clip vanish. The upper left card was raised showing two
coins. In the process the coin in the right hand was loaded under the card that was just
picked up and the card and coin placed over the coins at the upper left position. The
coin at the upper right position was picked up and vanished following the procedure of
the previous coin. Finally the card at the lower right position was picked up revealing
that there was no coin there and was to be found under the card at the upper left
position.
 
While performing this routine the response to the first two transpositions was so, so.
The transposition of the last coin, however, was always greeted with astonishment.
 
Version TwoIn attempting to clean up version one, which I then called Coins-n-Cards,
I developed three moves. Two were the use of four cards to cover the coins and pick
up one coin and deposit it at the upper left position. This is the Schneider Transfer
Pickup move and the Schneider Transfer Deposit Move presented in the Moves
chapter. The other was the Schneider Pickup move also presented in that chapter.
 
This version began as follows. The deck was held in the left hand in dealing position.
Four cards were pushed off into the right hand. That hand held those cards in dealing
position. Then the Schneider Transfer was executed apparently covering four coins
