Classic Matrix is performed slowly. The cards are laid onto the coins while chatting
with the audience. The first transition is done with a wave of the hand. No moves are
done. You need not even explain to the audience what has happened. Then, as if to
clarify what has happened, you raise two cards to show a coin has moved from one
location to the other. You can sit there holding the cards and the hidden coin for a long
time. The audience can look at the coins on the table and ponder how it came about.
Classic Matrix is performed passively. That is, the coins are covered and the magic
apparently happens while the coins and cards lie on the table untouched. The cards are
touched simply to reveal that a coin has moved through space.
Many people feel they must take an active role when the magic occurs. These
individuals pick up the cards with a snap as if their actions are causing a coin to travel
