As I write this after shooting the above
clip, I realize the Hindu could be done with
the cards face down. Then the shuffle could
begin by holding a break on the two bottom
cards of the deck. Then the shuffle is
done. When you get to those two cards,
show them and continue with the double. It
is not bad.
Remove and Replace Get Ready
The double lift I do is essentially the lift
presented in Dai Vernon's book, Dai
Vernon Book of Magic. In that sequence
he used the following as a get ready.

While I was working on the lift, I spent
hours going over the Dai Vernon Book of
Magic. One day a long time later, I met a
magician at a convention and discovered
that he had learned his lift from that book
as well. The interesting thing is that our
double lifts were not the same. We each
